Privacy Policy

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and profile information from your GitHub account (if you sign in via GitHub OAuth). This information is used to authenticate you and manage your account.

Usage Data

We collect information about how you use our service, including API key usage counts, saved package dashboards, alert configurations, and search queries. This data helps us improve the service and enforce rate limits.

Payment Information

Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer ID and subscription ID but never have access to your credit card number or payment details. See Stripe's Privacy Policy for how they handle your payment data.

Analytics & Cookies

We use Google Analytics to understand site traffic and usage patterns. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymized usage data. We also use Google AdSense to display advertisements, which may use cookies for ad personalization. You can opt out of personalized advertising at Google Ads Settings.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide package analytics, health scores, and AI-powered summaries
  • Send email alerts, weekly digests, and newsletters (when opted in)
  • Process payments and manage subscriptions
  • Enforce API rate limits based on your subscription tier

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the following third-party services that are necessary to operate pypistats.com:

  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Google Analytics — site usage analytics
  • Google AdSense — advertising
  • Anthropic (Claude) — AI-powered package summaries and chat
  • GitHub — OAuth authentication and repository enrichment data

4. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Google Cloud SQL. API keys are stored as hashed tokens. All data transmission is encrypted via HTTPS. We follow industry-standard security practices to protect your information.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Opt out of marketing emails at any time via your dashboard
  • Revoke API keys from your dashboard

6. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days. Anonymized usage statistics and package download data are retained indefinitely as they are not personally identifiable.

7. Children's Privacy

pypistats.com is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of significant changes via email. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision.
